At Monkey Puzzle Welling we turned our baby room into our very own Smurf Village for a fantasy woodland activity!
We started off by exploring different textures and making cakes.
After this we went into our very own smurf house and found some number matching ladybirds to extend our mathematical development.
The adults then encouraged the children to go over to another smurf village set up in the tuff tub tray. Alex extended the children’s learning during this by involving natural resources for them to explore and use to decorate their own toadstools after.
Lastly the children went to have a quiet story time in the sensory room, reading and exploring our home made smurf story book.
The book involved British values and flash cards to incorporate each other’s feelings and facial expressions then going onto making their own stories at the end.
