Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Welling and Pre-School is a privately owned nursery situated near the heart of Welling town centre at 73 Upper Wickham Lane, Welling, DA16 3AF.
Our location makes us well perfect for serving families in the London Borough of Bexley.
Monkey Puzzle Welling, alongside Monkey Puzzle Bexleyheath, is owned by mother and father of two, Jenny and Parv Choudhury and offers a home-from-home environment, where children are able to prosper and learn. We are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high-quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.
Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged 3 to 18months, tweenies aged 18 months to 2 1/2 years, mini-preschoolers ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old. and lastly preschool aged 3 1/2 to school age.
Due to our learning spaces being equipped especially for our four age groups, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.

This week, our cheeky Elves have gotten into so much mischief.
Cinnamon and Cupcake played some tricks on the pre-school children, they introduced their friends to the children, Frosty the Snowman and all of the reindeer who pull Santa’s sleigh. The Elves also encouraged the children to take part in some interesting science experiments.
The children are so eager to come to nursery to see what the elves have been up to and can’t wait to tell their Early Years Educators what their elves at home have gotten up

Today at Monkey Puzzle Welling, the children have been investigating ice patterns whilst learning about Winter.
The Early Years Educator sprinkled a light dusting of baby powder onto some water in a tray, the children then dipped a cotton swab into some dish soap and gently touched the swab onto the powder. The children gasped with amazement to see that the ice cracked under their swab. They took turns to crack the ice and then swirled their swab around in to the water to create patterns.
The Early Years Educator introduced words such as ‘ice’, ‘frozen’, ‘snowflakes’ and ‘magical’.
Such a fun yet fascinating activity for our little scientists to explore.

The children in Pre-School are continuing with their Christmas Festivities.
Red and green paper were laid out on the table and the children were able to make choices over the design of their Christmas collage. The children practised their scissor skills and were able to cut out the shapes of their choosing and honed their fine motor skills using the glue sticks to create their masterpiece.
Here at Monkey Puzzle Welling, we value process art. This allows the children to focus on the creativity and skills used to create the art rather than the final product which encourages exploration and discovery.
Scissor skills are an important life skill for the children as well as strengthening wrist and finger strength in preparation for future writing skills.
